Ban on Bottled Water

How do you feel about not being allowed to bring bottled water on board a cruise ships? Carnival has just such a ban and recently raising the price of bottled water. HAL still allows passengers to bring on bottled water 7 soda. Other cruise lines have different policies. Does this ban negatively affect you or is it not an issue for you?

I order a 12 pack of bottled water before the cruise for $6.90 which is delivered and stocked in my refrigerator when I board ... why anyone would want to drag it is beyond me ...

Does not affect me at all. If I want water it comes out of the tap.

Me too. Besides, at 8 pounds a gallon there is a lot of other stuff I would prefer lugging around instead.

We have ordered the water for each of our cruises and enjoyed the convenience of having it waiting in our room for us.

Agree with others, too much hassle to lug around.

I like that the lines have the 12 pack to buy. When I fly into a port it can be a pain going to buy water and then carry it onto the ship.

I am with you for not wanting to lug all that water on to a cruise ship especially if your stateroom isn't ready immediately on boarding. But I would like to be able to bring one small water bottle with me on board. My husband needs to drink regularly and this would be a problem for him.

gonna sound like a broken record here, BUT!

on our first cruise, we brought a THREE 12 packs of soda (different boys wanted different sodas) and two 12 packs of some tea we liked to drink ALONG with I think two 12 packs of water.

2nd cruise - two 12 packs of water and three 12 packs of sodas

3rd cruise ordered two 12 packs of water and bought the bottomless bubbles for the kids and Cheers for me (DW and 21 yr old son was in another room) - SO MUCH BETTER!

4th and 5th and beyond - order water for the rooms + bottomless bubbles for the others, not ordering cheers due to the soon 2 be 21 yr olds do not drink enough (restate, THEY BETTER NOT DRINK ENUFF) for it to pay for them to get the Cheers package. for the 4th cruise we will be in the same family harbor room so I am NOT paying for the cheers package. Sorry my mini rant there, I have told them that they will be responsible for anything they buy onboard and to save up for the cruise.

Even though not mentioned in the thread, I have not brought wine aboard (not enough of a wine drinker and I change my mind daily about what I drink) nor have I order the liquor to be in the room, great idea, but again I change my drinks every time.

Me too. A 12 pack of water is like $4 and change.

I'm happy with the rule -- I got tired of carrying my wife's case of water. Now, it is waiting in the room,
