Bad Pizza , Good steak?

whats the best and worst food that you have experience on a cruise ship? Every time I've sailed Carnival it never fails that the pizza will be burned at some point during the voyage. On Royal Caribbean, the pizza was perfect and made to order. I think that the steakhouses on Royal are better in General but Nick and Nora's on CCL is top of the line. the Warm chocolate (carnival) melting cake is great but maybe a bit overrated. RCCL may even make it a tad bit better.

I think Princess definitely takes the award for the best -- their Alfredo's specialty restaurant (made even more special by the lack of any fee) is made to order, along with their other offerings. I think that the MDR offerings (aside from one unfortunate salad) beats out both Carnival and Celebrity. The Princess Volcano (off the kids' menu) is fantastic, as are there more "adult" desserts.

Aside from Alfredo's, I have not tried any of the specialty restaurants.

Methinks I’d better get on princess soon. I’ve never sailed Princess because I’ve been wanting to make my Carnival rank ( Diamond 💎) not there yet but I need to get on a higher class ship 🚢 which o think princess is ...

The best ... there are many, depending on the mood and what you want. Something a bit different if you are on an NCL ship is Modernos. It is a Brazilian BBQ or churiscario. Meat meat and more meat served to the table hot off the sword. And the grilled pineapple is to die for.

I used to love carnival -- then I made the mistake of trying Princess. It is at the point I probably will not ever book another Carnival cruise again. I think that Princess offers so much more of what I appreciate.

That being said, I am not averse to trying out other lines. I have heard a whole lot of good things about NCL from many posters here. I only wish they sailed from Houston.

Wow! That makes me REALLY eager to try Princess. I’m looking for class and quality!!

I’m assuming however that princess isn’t very “kid” oriented... correct ?

I have no experience with it, but I have heard that they have an outstanding kids' club. Furthermore, I have never been bothered by children (although they have certainly been present) on a Princess cruise.

I don't know if that is because of their upbringing (which I am sure had a great deal to do with it) or the kids' club.

You got that right. Wonderful dining experience.

Wow, what a question. Best Pizza for us Carnival hands down. Best steak, between Crown Grill on Princess and the Pinnacle Grill on Holland. I have to give Moderno on NCL as one of the best specialty restaurants I've been to.

Dang, now I'm hungry!!!!!!

Pizza is pizza, to me. It's all about the crust, and the sauce. Carnival had NEVER served a burned pizza in front of me, on five ships (maybe not a sample) and I've watched thousands of their pies walking by. I hang out at that aft bar. Never burned, occasionally wimpy and soggy. They are made with good ingredients, including real live Italian durum wheat flour and Italian tomatoes in cans. I even had a bite of piece, although I don't eat white flour products. It tasted fine. Not exceptional, just...like pizza. Not one little black spot showed up. Can't say I tried the pizza on any other cruise line, nothing to compare. (Picture taken aboard Carnival Victory last year). As far as their Warm Melting Chocolate Cake, it is superb, There are pretenders, mock ups, simulations and wannabees. No one else does chocolate like Carnival does chocolate, and RCCLs chocolate desserts are the WORST. I know for a fact that Carnival uses some really good European chocolate that produces a depth of flavor that no one else does. As far as the recipe, it's simple and elegant but easy to over-bake, resulting in a cake-y interior instead of that almost-pudding-sabayon consistency that allows the ice cream to melt instantly--it's heaven in a ramekin.

😂 Yep, I’m a little hungry too !!
