I’m sailing on RC Liberty if the Seas does anyone know what the service charges are to use the ATM?

Some charge an arm and a leg.  Others want your first born son.

Dont  use the atm on board.  You really shouldn’t need it. Besides, what if it’s not working ?  Bring a bunch of $1 bills for tips, and spending money.   Almost everything will be charged to your S & S card, or your credit card anyway.

I don’t have a CC, if I need to pull out some cash does anyone have any advise on ATMs in any of the ports if the cruise ship charges an arm and a leg?

You need a CC  ( or debit card ) to back up your Sign & Sail card.  You can use cash to back it up, but  when you approach the limit you’ll have to add on.    Where does your cruise take you ?   If you get cash from an island atm, you may not receive usd.   What card were you going to use in the atm ? Debit I assume.     Have you looked into travelers Checks ?

There might be another way.......

‘you might be able to use your debit card to purchase chips in the casino, then just cash them in a little while later.   But I’m not sure about that.

Some ATMs in other countries are not set up to accept all bank debit cards, so please be sure to check with your bank to see if it is universal.

You should also call your bank and tell them you are going on vacation, and that the debit card will be accessed by  xyz CruiseLine.   This way they know any out of country charges are to be expected.  This would be the case for CC’s also.

I have only looked at one on Princess. The service fee was $8 if memory serves me correctly.

The ATM machines on Princess only allow withdrawls in $50 increments.  I might suggest some sort of prepaid visa or mastercard that you load with cash before the cruise. Link to your cruise card and when you want cash from it, go to the casino and "charge" credits to the room.  Then cash out and go to the cage to get your cash off the card.... It sounds complicated but is actually very easy.

Oh if it’s $8ish that’s ok.  I was having nightmares that it was like $20, lol. I’m going to see if I can set up a pre-payment transfer onto a prepaid visa for my payday when we’re sailing so I can maybe use it to get some cash? Thank you everyone for all your suggestions, I’m a single mom on a very tight budget taking my son on his first vacation for his 14th birthday and a much needed vacation for myself.  so I’ve prepaid for everything throughout this year so we don’t have any surprises unfortunately my payday falls on one of the days we’re sailing and I just need to access some cash in case my son might want a souvenir.
