Art Work on Ship ... Anyone purchase art at the Auctions?

Princess has their ongoing art gallery / art auction and offer a wide selection of different artwork.  We purchased a print at a good price during an auction but found most of it too be too pricey.  Have you purchased art work on board a ship?

Never purchased any artwork on any cruises that I have been on. The prices are too high.

We haven't seen anything g that we like, but Tablemates on one cruise mentioned buying a large piece, and someone else we know has purchased a few pieces on his NCL cruises.

We've bought many pieces. But never for investment. We buy what we like.

I have purchased a few pieces about 20 years ago on RCI. The auctions are all by Park West Gallery, they also have a web site for purchases. I pick a few that I liked and then picked a few for investments. One piece that I paid $ 450.00 for framed is now going fort about 10K. When I got it I knew the artist was famous, old and ill. I gambled that it would go op in value over time, it was also a piece that I liked then and still like.

I have never purchased. On my first cruise they were giving away a few free small prints. I was going to have them framed, and I learned how expensive custom framing is... Needless to say they are still in the paper envelope.

You know what's good to do with those ?  Buy the iron on copy sheets, then copy those pieces onto the sheets & iron them on t-shirts.  Wear them on your next cruise.

We have not bought any pieces. I have attended the auction for fun a couple of times.

Very crafty! Thanks for the tip Happy

Good idea, but you may not want to wear it on the ship -- they might be sharp enough to pursue a copyright violation.

If you buy enough, they will invite you on a free cruise with some of the featured artists. Not me, but some good friends... she is an art teacher and they spend most of their time at art auctions while on board.
