My cruise last year stopped in St. Kitts. We took the scenic railroad tour & it was great. The railroad was originally used by the sugar plantations. There was a lot of nice scenery & some complimentary drinks. They also had some singers that would go from car to car singing Caribbean songs. That day happened to be my birthday so they sang Happy Birthday to me.

We are going to St. Kitts next spring. Are there any beaches within walking distance of the port?

There is none in walking distance. The closest beach will still need a taxi. Check www.sknvacation.com for shore excursions with the best price. It is good to book in advance and check websites because the ads on the ship I find them very expensive because they have to pay more for advertising. Compare and you will see.

By giving them information based on what they want to do for the best price on the island. Tourist pay more money when they book on board or on non personal websites.

Pick up a bottle of Cavalier Rum. It's made in Antigua, but is available in St. Kitts.  Excellent rum, and only about $6 +/- .

oh, when you get off the ship, if there is a guy with a monkey, have your picture taken with him ( the monkey ).

Thanks but we prefer to book through the cruiseline just in case something goes wrong. I really don't want to be a pier runner. LOL
