Thank you for the note and tip on price matching of duty free items by the ship. We usually work the opposite way though. We check the on-board prices early in the cruise and although there are 'special' sales towards the cruise end, it is hard to complain about a small difference, from either source, when the savings are still great compared to the on-shore prices. We also try to include the purchase of local products in our shopping so there is usually not a direct competition for some of the items.

I did not know about the price matching, so that is good to know. I tend to shop and buy stuff at the port I know I can't get on the ship or in the states.
In most ports, you should be able to haggle your way to a better price. You can't use the revised price as a basis for the price matching on the ship, but if you are on shore and get a lower price, why not buy there?
