Alaska cruise 40-50 what is the best cruise line

Hi. My best friend wants to take a cruise for her 50th birthday to Alaska.

We are looking to go in 2018 leaving from Seattle.

What is a good cruise line to take for ages 40-50? We enjoy good food, drinks, good shows/entertainment. First time to Alaska.

Thank you for your suggestions.

My husband and I are 48 (at the time of sailing) and 45 and going on the NCL Bliss in June 2018 which is purpose built for Alaska and has a huge observation lounge. I have sailed on a sister ship of the same class the NCL Escape in the Caribbean before and we really liked Freestyle dining, the choice of restaurants, the entertainment, etc. We are able to select two amenities from the Free at Sea offer and the Ultimate Beverage package and Specialty Dining Package (4 meals) will be our two selections. The Escape had all ages on it and they have excellent children programs so they are busy having their own type of fun (didn't see any unruly kids because mine weren't with - LOL). Of course Alaska is a different itinerary and the ship is still being built, so not sure what the mix will look like. I suspect there will be all ages. We are part of a multigenerational group and staying with 4 other relatives in a Haven suite and are very excited about it. We are going Roundtrip from Seattle to save money on airfare. I am sure we will cruise Alaska again so we are choosing not to do a cruisetour on this trip. All those are considerations on the itinerary you select and I highly recommend finding a good travel agent to help you with the process. Even if you know what you want to book for a cruise a travel agent will not charge you more than the cruiselines will and may have access to group pricing and special discounts that you would not get direct through the cruiseline. Good luck - maybe we will see you in Alaska!

Carnival. We went on the Spirit 4 years ago and going out on Legend again to celebrate our 46 wedding anniversary. We stay with Carnival.

We have cruised Alaska on Holland, Princess and NCL. We had a great time on all three. We use Costco travel often as they give ship board credit. Alaska is just a beautiful place Enjoy!!!!

Thank you
