After two years . . .

Finally on board the Emerald Princess. After a less than stellar boarding procedure, after two drinks all has been forgiven. It is very apparent that the ship is at reduced capacity. The streamlined muster drill (watch a video to unlock the tv and then scan the medallion at the muster station) is quick and easy.

I had really lost the reason why I love to cruise. In the last hour it is all flooding back.

I don't want to hear it anymore! I'm even looking forward to the packing and the drive to the port (about a long days worth) with my dearly beloved...on Thanksgiving Day no less so we can get tested the next day. .....one thing I've noticed...its been sooo long since our last one (Nov the something 2019) that I'm totally stressed I'm forgetting something, or or or or ...all I know is what I used to be able to do practically blindfolded to prepare for a cruise I have to think about and stare at it...

Cruise docs and luggage tags were ready this morning...I told my wife and before she could finish saying "Do you wanna...." I blurted out GET THE LUGGAGE OUT OF THE ATTIC?! - Luckily we were on the same brainwave, otherwise that could have been awkward....

Packing will commence in 30 Min...and then I'll stare at the luggage longingly until December 15, when we fly to Key West. Big Smile

Amen to that brother. Our last one was November 2018. Everything shut down just days before our we were supposed to go on our next one after that. I am soooo anticipating this one in 2 and a half months but I keep looking over my shoulder. I really need this cruise.

Wait...you're packing NOW for 12/15??? yer preaching to the choir as they say. I really do understand....we need mental help...or a cruise ......

Well this is turning into a very interesting cruise. We were delayed about two hours leaving FLL due to refueling issues. The Capt put the pedal to the metal and we arrived at Princess Cayes on time. Today and tomorrow we’re supposed to have at sea days prior to arriving in Cartagena, but due to a crew medical emergency we will be arriving in Falmouth about 1 AM tomorrow. We will stay in Jamaica for the day replacing the Jamaica stop on the way back from Panama. Not sure what the rest of the itinerary will be.
I just hope the crew member will be OK. Not too upset with the changes considering the reason.

Yeh, usually its some greyhead who cashed in his chips...(there but for the grace of God)...so hopefully he/she will be ok,,could've been an accident too...lots of things on board can bite you if yer not careful...but anyway, sounds like fun not knowing exactly when or where yer going or for how long and so on.....do you really care?? really? Sounds like you're having a ball.....Saw a tv show about some cruise or other in the MED/Greek Islands (can't remember the line) but the Capt put up a whole list of "possible stops" for their itinerary, and the passengers held this big meeting and decided where THEY wanted to go....

Think of it this way: you're getting a totally unique itinerary that can't be purchased! Enjoy the adventure - and Happy Cruising!!! Happy

As long as I’m sailing, only returning to FLL early would upset me. Time for another Dark and Stormy!

Nice, it will be officially 2 years to the day when I step onboard my next ship in February!

Yeah, just had a FB memory ... 3 years ago today returned home from my last cruise Sad
