After a Few Cruises, Do you Stop Shopping on the Ship?

The novelty of the various shops on a cruise ship seems to wear off after a few cruises ... it's the same old same old and the "discounts" aren't really discounts. Do you stop going to the shops after a few cruises ... I haven't been back in one in my past 5 cruises ...

We always have some onboard credit to use, so I spend some in the shops for Clinique makeup that I like. On our next cruise, we will spend it on excursions instead, because the stuff in the shops generally isn't really appealing to us.

I always shop... but I do not always buy.  I like to shop and sometimes there is a new "widgit" that I really must have.  Not too often, but....

I will walk through the shops, haven't bought anything in the last ten or so cruises.

I'm getting to that point.  Last cruise browsed around but didn't buy anything.

I'll browse to see if something interesting catches my eye. This past trip they were having a sale on Pandora charms. I stopped by the casino after leaving the shop, so that he could see what he'd gotten me. Wink

We always buy a tumbler of some sort to use on the trip. Maybe a t shirt and /or a hat if they have something nice.

I find the onboard shopping about as appealing as going to Cozumel for the 20th time.....it just gets boring and the same old same old.   Maybe a house cleaning of vendors might improve the situation.

Another thing that is a turn off to me concerning the ship stores is not only the boring inventory but the staff working the stores are usually with a sour attitude.  I wonder if they are forced to work in their because no one else wants to.  I've only seen two store workers that had good attitudes.  One on the Grand Princess and one on the Carnival Inspiration.  Otherwise they look completely bored and aren't even trying to act upbeat or they have a bit of anger they are hiding just under the surface.

I agree with all of the above posts.  I only one time bought some socks or underwear because I ran out I think.  I cant really remember.  One other time I got tempted at the candy store.  I never eat sweets or its very rare that I do but I think I bought gummies or something.  SO.... put me down for a NO.

On my cruise just 2 weeks ago, I bought little odds and ends and then a couple things I needed.. like Aloe Vera Gel. Crying. But they do their best to get every penny out of you. On my girls trip I don't plan on doing any shopping on the ship.
