About to book our first cruise ever - Help!

We have decided to treat ourselves to our first cruise and have chosen Canada and New England as the area to explore.  The itinerary must include Quebec and PEI and at least a couple of ports in Maine, but length and departure port are very flexible.

Two biggies with us are being able to eat by ourselves at dinner and no dressing up - no jackets, no suits, no cocktail dresses and no tuxes.  This is a vacation.  We want to relax, kick back and reconnect. Also, huge hoards are not our style.

Is this impossible to find?  Any recommendations?

Princess Cruise Lines has several great Canada / New England cruises.

Norwegian has a cruise that stays overnight in Quebec.  Leaves from NY. 10 days I think

First congratulations on going on your first cruise. You will love it.

As well as the cruise mentioned above by BAK out of NY, Norweigian also has a ship out of Boston that does cruises to Quebec City. And NCL does not have assigned dining so eating in casual attire when you choose to and as a couple without others is the norm.

Welcome to cruising... have fun.  The others have already supplied good answers for the ship and port.

Whatever ship or cruise line you choose.  If you are a first time cruiser.  Most definitely take the time and real thoroughly the Frequently Asked Questions on their website.

There are also 5 and 7 day voyages out of NY.  Carnival offers cruises too. If it's on the Glory, I'll recommend it.  If it's the Splendor, ehhhhhhhhhh, I wouldn't pass on it, but I won't recommend it either.

I suggest using a competent cruise travel agent. It won't cost you any more and you will get perks in addition to what the cruise line offers.

Why does someone go to all the effort to set up an account, ask a question, and then not come back to check the answers ?    What a waste of time.  Hers and ours.

Get a great agent. Even if you want to book yourself. a great agent will help you get the best deal and you will enjoy the cruise more that you think. have fun....
