5 Reasons for a Balcony Cabin

http://cruisefever.net/5-benefits-to-having-a-balcony-room-on-your-cruise/

I've done a porthole, OV, and balcony cabins.I typically pick a balcony for the privacy and being able to sit there and watch the ocean without having to leave the cabin.

What's your biggest reason for picking a balcony?

Our biggest reason is sitting and watching the ocean go by. But for us price is still a big thing. Balcony's are a treat and if they get affordable by our standards we are all over it.

1.We enjoy stepping out first thing first thing in the morning and last thing at night in our PJ's.

2. The DH likes to stand on the balcony while I finish getting ready for dinner.

3.A wonderful place to escape the crowds, if necessary.

4.The cabin feels bigger than an ocean view, even though it isn't.

5.It's fun to watch for sea life (dolphins, flying fish, etc) when you are not properly dressed for pubic areas.

Open decks where others are, that have a view of the ocean,  Lido at the railing, an outside promenade, etc. For me, unless I'm getting into a pool or hot tub or the ocean, being in a swim suit is not proper public attire (I don't like scaring or scarring little children).

For us it’s the itinerary.  Alaska and Hawaii demand a balcony; Europe depends on the itinerary.  For the Caribbean, price and cabin location are probably more important to us.

For me it depends on the # of days at sea.   For the short 7 night or less trip I'm good with an interior cabin.  About all I do in the cabin is sleep and shower.

I like having a private outdoor area to sit back, relax, and enjoy the view.  But as other said it depends on the trip.  For example, next time I do a Carnival 4 day R/T from Long Beach I'm just going to get an interior room.  When I did the cruise in January I was only in my room for the four "S's", Sleep, shower, s---, and shave.
