3rd Carnival Vista Class Ship Under Construction

I saw where the 3rd Vista class ship is now under construction, from looking at the Dining Rooms on the Vista (Horizon and Reflection) it looks like the new ship will be the Reflection. Thoughts?

I apologize if we have already discussed this question. You can send me on a cruise to nowhere as punishment (oh wait, that is not done anymore, UNLESS there is a hurricane)

I have yet to sail on the first Vista.

Now that it is coming to Galveston, perhaps I will finally get to board her.

I have never sailed on this ship.  Refurbishment is mostly a good thing.

When it comes to Galveston I will book a cruise on Vista, but I like the smaller Conquest class ships

Sailed on Vista May 14-24 (Barcelona to Athens) & May 24-June 4, 2016 (Athens to Barcelona) and thoroughly loved it! Beautiful ship! Enjoyed it so much that we are booked on the Horizon April 2, 2018 (13 day Europe) and counting the days!! If Carnival is planning a 3rd ship in this class, then we will definitely be booking a cruise on it, as well!! We are Carnival people and love it when they have European itineraries.

Where do they get the money pumping out these new ships?   I'm glad they are.  The lower half of the fleet has seen much better days.  I like the Conquest and Dream class ships.  I'd like to try a Vista but they're not in ports I prefer.  Yet!

No I have not, but if you set punished, I will have to go to keep an eye on you!

I really don't know if I'd like a ship as big as the Vista class. My fav so far is the Sunshine, followed closely by the Miracle.

Just a couple numbers replying to Todds' where do they get the money?

2015 Royal Caribbean reported 8.3B gross revenue on 5.4M passengers. After expenses, bottom line is about 8% profit per passenger, or $123 clear profit per cruiser.

Carnival Corporation (all lines); 2015 NET profit was 1.8B.  2016 NET profit was 2.8B

We sail on the Vista in December, then I'll decide if I want to try the Horizon and/or Vista#3.

For us the size of the ship does not have a big impact on our cruise since we really don't get involved with the slides, water areas, etc. We were on the Vista for 20 days and never used the sky tram. But then, on our back2back in the Mediterranean, only 2 of the 20 days were at sea. So those days were to recover from the 22,000+ steps we took in every port! The itinerary and ports are what we look at when deciding our cruise vacations not the amenities on the ship. And since Carnival is only in the Mediterranean when they build new ships, we will try to plan on being there, too!
