June 2015 - 8 Night Southern Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Conquest
Too many people on board. Too congested. Too many line ups. It started with registration. We received an email telling us that our registration time was between 12-1pm, and that if we did not arrive during this time that we may be subjected to a long wait. We arrived at 12 and faced a huge line up out the door and wrapping around the back of the building. We i asked a Carnival representative about our 12 time, he said "no body follows that, i dont know why they send those emails out"!? We were over 2 hours before we got to the gangway, a good portion of that time standing in the hot sun outside.
this was the first of many line ups. 20 minutes to get breakfast or lunch. A 30 minute wait to get a buzzer for dinner reservation and then another 40 minute wait for our table (2 people).
Breakfast and lunch on the Lido deck was just pure mayhem! First search for a table, next line up. 20 minutes minimum.
The employees work hard to provide service, but there are just too many people on board with over 1000 children. This ship was not designed for every room to have extra passengers sleeping on the pull out.
The other issue is the bar prices. You cannot bring any alcohol on board and the prices are extremely high. They have a monopoly
This will be our last cruise with Carnival.
