Brilliance of the Seas

December 2015 - 5 Night Western Caribbean (Tampa Roundtrip) Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

Disney Fantasy

September 2013 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Port Canaveral roundtrip) Cruise on Disney Fantasy

Best cruise line for kids

We had an amazing trip on the Disney Fantasy. The kids club is top notch and my teen enjoyed the homecoming party and starring in the zombie movie the teen group made. We had plenty of family time as well as alone time for the hubby and I.  The shows were top notch and the food was very good.  We enjoyed Remy and Palo specialty restaurants and both places remembered to honor our anniversary.  Which was very nice!  We were able to snag a cabana on Castaway Cay and it was well worth the cost.  We had a great family vacation and we can't wait to go back.  Tip: The aqueduct is so fun but try to ride as soon as possible after boarding and on days at port, or the line can get quite long.  I did write a blog post about our trip if anyone is interested, I can send the link.  Definitely a fun cruise line for families.  Elegant, but whimsical at the same time!

Grandeur of the Seas

March 2010 - 5 Night Western Caribbean (Tampa roundtrip) Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

Carnival Fantasy

January 2004 - 3 Night Bahamas (Port Canaveral roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Fantasy

disfan2003's Tips

Tampa, Florida - Not a bad port. Easy to get through the lines. We got dropped off, so can't comment on parking. Friendly staff and clean port. Would sail from here again.
George Town, Grand Cayman - This is one of my favorite ports. Beautiful, safe, and lots to do! Make sure you visit sting ray city and 7 mile beach. My son loved chasing the lizards with the curled tails. We loved the water, the people, and the excursions. Everything was perfect!
Cozumel, Mexico - We went horseback riding. The saddles were wooden, and the horses shorter than I am used to, but they looked well cared for, and the ride was fun. We couldn't gallop, but we got to see some interesting ruins. Shop owners can be aggressive. The prices get cheaper the further from the ship you go, for the same stuff.
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico - This was a fun port to wander around and relax. We didn't do an excursion here, but the shops were fun. You can haggle with the shop owners. Some can be pushy, but just move on. No big deal.
Castaway Cay (Disney Private Island) - Grab a cabana if you can. It was so relaxing! The giant Pelican Plunge slide was so crowded we waited in line for almost an hour and had barely moved in line, so we ditched that idea. You also get all you can eat food on the island as well included in the cruise price.
Disney Fantasy Disney Fantasy - The characters will just be walking around. We snagged pics with Goofy just walking around and Peter Pan was hopping down the stairs chatting with my son. It's like they are cruising with you!
