About dedaviswright

Hi I am a school teacher and travel enthusiast. I love to cruise and find it one of the easiest ways to travel. I am a history buff and love to learn about new things, even if they are things from places I've been before. Eventually, I would love to be a cruise consultant.

Christmas cruise

my daughter and I took the Christmas cruise and found it to be wonderful.  This is our 3rd Christmas cruise on the Pride.   This year was the added bonus of Charleston, which we enjoyed so much but couldn't believe it was so cold.  Would love to have the same itenerary again next Christmas.

dedaviswright's Tips

Baltimore, Maryland - I did not consider this as part of my trip because I live in the area11/2 hours away
Charleston, South Carolina - Take an early horse and buggy tour, then have lunch somewhere that's local. We went to an Irish pub called Tommy Condons and got shrimp and grits (never had them before) they were great and spicy. I know there were many other places to eat too.
Port Canaveral, Florida - Nice day if you didn't go on any excursions. However, buses, taxis, and excursions are very expensive. Walking anywhere is out of the question.
Carnival Pride Carnival Pride - Get on early and orient yourself with the main layout of the boat. Don't try to do too much and go to everything. This is a great ship to kick back and relax, read, sun, and unwind
