November 2015 - Carnival Magic to Caribbean - Eastern
First deck room that slept 5. Everyone was comfortable in their beds. bathroom and a half was great.
Cruise Director, Dr. E, very personable and fun. Shows were pretty good, most of the comedians had some funny material. Staff cleaning all the time, wiping things down, cleaning things up. Ship was very clean.
Spa - meh
My 16 yr old sons really liked Club 02. My 12 year old did not care about her age club at all.
I probably would think twice before cruising this time of year as the water on the boat and in our ports of call was chilly. Winds were 15-25 mph which made water and beach excursions uncomfortable.
Only two real complaints:
1) the servers (specifically on deck, not really the dining room) were aggressive in pushing you to buy drinks. I can't tell you how many times I said "no thank you" to the same servers in an hour. Got a little better once they realize that they aren't making money from you and they hit up the people that they can.
2) reboarding the boat after a port of call (all of them but more so Bahamas) was ridiculous. No organization, people cutting lines, other people irate, people wandering around trying to figure things out. Unnecessary. Cruise staff should look at the issue and find a way to improve the process.
