January 2017 - Regal Princess to Caribbean - Eastern
Favorite part was St. Maarten and St. Thomas; we weren't impressed with the Dom Rep port. Loved the beaches of St. Maarten and the shopping opportunities in St. Thomas. The Regal Princess was poorly layed out. When climbing the stairs in mid-ship to our 9th floor stateroom, there were no longer any stairs to take after the 7th floor!! There was just a locked door(s). You had to go to the front or aft part of the ship to take the stairs higher than 7th deck. Our early dining table was poorly situated -- between a busy serving station and a very loud table for 12. This did not help the atmosphere for relaxation and a quiet dinner for 2. Another con was the poor communication between the Security staff in the terminal and the Security or Bev staff on the ship. Although we voluntarily submitted our liquor purchased in Mexico (it was NOT confiscated) on the previous cruise (not back to back), and promised that it would be returned to our stateroom on the last day of the cruise, it was actually DESTROYED and never returned to us. Marco, the Princess Security staff at the Ft. Lauderdale terminal, after passing through Security, totally lied to us about the return of our liquor. (He even put an identification label on the bottle, with our stateroom number.) He should be fired!!
