August 2015 - Carnival Imagination to Mexico
Getting onto the ship requires you to be sure you are in the correct line. You just need to be aware of which check-in line to be in. One is located outside which the line is longer and not sure which ship that was for and the other is located in the dome (Long Beach/Los Angeles).
We were just looking forward to celebrating our 25th anniversary and just relaxing. The tender to go onto Catalina Island was extremely slow due to one of the boats being out of service. Our day at Ensenada was okay, only two little kids trying to sell us things. I guess the rest of the kids were in school as we arrived in Ensenada on a Tuesday, instead of a weekend.
The entertainment on the ship was not bad, depending on what activities you like to do, listen or watch. The comedy shows were funny, the music shows weren't bad, depending on the type of music you like. However, there was this one guy in the late afternoon/early evening that was signing in the lobby for several nights that was total off key and/or tone death.
The food was decent, but the best tasting food is always in the main dining room. Their prime rib is always excellent when they offer it. The food on the Lido deck is your basic cafeteria food, nothing special.
Getting off the ship was easy. We decided to take our own luggage off the ship, instead of leaving them in the hallway the night before.
Overall, we had a good time on the cruise if you are not expecting too much.
