Sail date: September 20, 2015
My wife and I were happy with food, staff, value and the itinerary. But we had a very bad experience during the cruise. At about 4 AM in the morning on Wednesday, Sept 23, both my wife and I were woken up with very bad and suffocation odor in the cabin. (1257). The smell was very strong and we were unable to breathe. Since we were not able to reach anyone on the phone I went to Guest services and reported the matter to the person at the desk. I believe his name has been Mark. The person told me that it was a known problem and the appropriate people were working on the issue. We met another couple at the lobby area who had the same problem. My wife and I waited in the lobby until about 6 AM in the morning. At that time we were told that the problem was fixed and we could return to out cabin. There was no follow up or any information provided to us as to what happened. We made an inquiry with Guest services about the incident at about 6 pm on Saturday, Sept 26 and Kurk (?). Initially he said there was no record about our experience. Then he said he had to check with someone and went into the back of the services area. He came back and told us that indeed there was an incident and our report had been recorded. He also informed us that Carnival would give us 20% off of our cost to compensate for our troubles. We have seen nothing so far
