July 2015 - Norwegian Sun to Alaska - Gulf of Alaska
Taking a cruise is a great way to see many of the highlights of a trip to Alaska. Most of your trip will be spent with tour operators-so the cruise line does not need to be your number one concern. The Norwegian Sun is an older style ship, although it has been converted to fit their "freestyle" cruising. The restaurants do not disappoint-although there is an additional charge to eat in them. The main dining room food is decent, and the buffets will have something for everyone. Staff were very nice, staterooms are well maintained. We were fortunate to be able to cruise extremely close to the glaciers-which we were told does not always happen. The tour operators that the ship deals with are extremely professional-as were the independent operators that we booked with. The tours you choose will have a great impact on your vacation-spend your money doing what works best for your family. Cruises are efficient operations-you can't go wrong picking a Norwegian ship.
