Celebrity Infinity

October 2016 - Celebrity Infinity to North America

Had a Great Time!

The food was excellent, although the PRESENTATION of meals in the main dining was better on Carnival. The service was outstanding. Our servers were absolute delights. My only real negative was the transfer from SFO to the port.

Celebrity would not allow us to pre-pay since we we not arriving on a flight that day. (we came early, rented a car & returned the car to the airport on sail day).

Carnival does this no problem.

We were told we could pay at the airport. But when we arrived they told us NO. You have to take a cab. We had to get Celebrity on the phone, supervisors involved etc. to get a ride. AND the bus driver told us "I Don't Know" when we asked where to go when he dropped everyone off at the port. Unacceptable.

All things considered, Celebrity was: good food, good service, nice itinerary, older crowd & ship needed a little TLC but for the price & itinerary it was a good deal.

Carnival Conquest

September 2015 - Carnival Conquest to Caribbean - Southern

Carnival Conquest to Southern Caribbean

Overall had a great time. The ship was nice, the service was EXCELLENT especially in the dining room. Main dining room meals were very good, buffets were only so-so. But many other dining options so there was something for everyone. As for the ports, Grand Turk and LaRomana Dominican Republic were a waste of time for us. Too much in-your-face pushy vendors in Dom.Rep.

Maybe if we had done water-based excursions we would have liked those places.

Curacao and Aruba were fun.

Most of the on-board activities involved drinking or gambling in various bars or lounges. The pools were PACKED with drinkers so it was basically a booze cruise atmosphere by the pools so we avoided those areas. Really liked the night Dive In Movies by the pool.

bookmarct's Tips

Celebrity Infinity Celebrity Infinity - Book the full cruise Internet Package BEFORE sailing. We paid $244. On the ship it was $344. Internet was slow a lot, so if you bought minutes, you wasted time getting pages to load.
Carnival Conquest Carnival Conquest - Be sure to take along extra medications like cough syrup etc. We both caught a cold and the Duty Free shop on board wanted $18 for a small 6oz bottle of Nyquil that you can get at Walmart for $7. That was a total ripoff. I refused to pay and suffered with my cough for 2 days.
