Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - Just got back from our cruise on the Carnival Ecstasy. The port in Freeport is not much to see. Typical shopping, Senor Frogs etc. It's an industrial port so no beach right there. We booked a snorkeling adventure with Paradise cove directly through them. There were people directing you where to wait and it was a short bus ride to the cove. The water was crystal clear. The food was good and beer was cold. Maybe a little over priced but i expect that. The current was a little strong for inexperienced snorklers the day we were there making it difficult to get all the way out to the reef. Overall a great day. Nathan, our driver and everyone else was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back.
Grand Turk Island - 2 ships in port make this a very crowded beach. Drink prices were higher than on the ship and we encountered a very rude bartender at Margaritaville. Was really looking forward to walking to jack's shack and was really let down. $9 small cup of rum punch. Topher the dog was awesome and looked happy and healthy, however the rest of the strays looked sad and hungry. if you go take a bag of dog treats.
the beach was beautiful and I got a nice underwater video of some fish. It's rocky so prepare for that. Had a nice day there even if my high expectations weren't meant.
