May 2017 - 5 Night Bahamas (Charleston Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Ecstasy
So this was our first cruise . I was a little hesitant about this small ship but it was a great little ship. The food was excellent every where we ate. The MDR staff was great and the food every night was great. The prime rib was out favorite. Also don't skip dessert . My husband love the tiramisu π. I enjoyed the black berry pie and melting cake. The salmon appetizer at the sea day brunch is heavenly . I did eat 4 guys burgersπ¬. They were always excellent . My kids loved the ice cream and all the fruit to eat. The breakfast omelette and hash browns were great!!! We do not drink so I can't comment on that . My kids enjoyed the water park and we did also . That is where we stayed most of the sea days . The motor city and Brits show were excellent . Remember we are first timers so we have nothing to compare it to . The pool was the biggest let down. It was always packed and no body watched their wild kids in the pools and hot tubs . We didn't even step foot in them . My kids liked camp carnival (8, 9 year old) . The last night they got to color a tshirt which they loved . We as adults who don't drink or gamble didn't feel like there was much for us . Every person working on the ship were friendly and the ship was being cleaned consistently. It may been old but it was clean and everyone was very helpful . At Nassau we went to the free breach which is a 10 minute walk . It was ok but not that much talk about . You get what you pay for π. The state market was annoying but I I do understand they are trying to make a living . Freeport we payed $10 round trip for a taxi to take us to The Grand Luycan Resort. We payed $20 per adult and $10 for kids to use the resort for the day. It was well worth it. The pools and hot tub was gorgeous be beach was amazing and we had free WiFI. They also had lots of Games like a large connect 4 game and chess. The food was ridiculous priced but we just ate a big breakfast and ate a late lunch on the ship. Over all we had a great cruise but not sure if t something we would do on a regular bases . We enjoy Destin better . The cruise ship was very nice and I have no real complaints . We just feel we may not be "cruisers"π. If you have any questions ask away . I am in the car driving from SC to TN. π
