May 2015 - 7 Night Alaskan Explorer With Glacier Bay (Seattle Roundtrip) Cruise on Westerdam
MARGARITAS ( Margarita means Daisy in English ) ARE LEFT BEHIND BY HOLLAND AMERICA ON FREESING TEMPETURES IN ALASKA. MY VACATION TURNED OUT TO BE A NIGHT MARE AFTER HOLLAND AMERICA AND THEIR CAPTAIN AND CRUISE DIRECTOR JONATHAN AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER JODY BECKER REFUSE TO LET ME JOING THE CREW. I ASK THE CRUISE PERSONANEL TO ALLOW ME IN TO THE SHIP BUT THEY REFUSE EVEN THOUGH I COULD TOUCH THE SHIP WITH MY HAND, THEY SAID I WAS LATE. THEY HAD CLOSED THE GATE EARLIER THAN EXPECTED AND THEY DID NOT LEAVE KETCHICAN ALASKA, UNTIL TWO HOURS LATER.
I can not understand why they stopped me from calling out to the cruise personnel, instead, they asked their travel agency to get me into their car with the false promise that they were going to help me, what they wanted instead, was my money because they offer to book a flight a much higher price than I could. Also they made sure that I would not get my passport until it was to late for me to get to the airport that night. Therefore, I was forced to spend the night on this horrible place where local people looked them selves before dark. Instead of going true my luggage looking for my passport to be send to me prior to their debarkation, they could have let me join the cruise. Holland America's travel agency also told me that if I did not going the cruise in Canada, I would be fined $600.00 by Holland America, therefore, I had to pay my own flight to Seattle and Victoria Canada the next day, plus hotel, transportation, food and other expenses on my own because Holland America said, they would not pay for it.
My medication was left behind on the ship but they did not care. I was so sick there after since my blood pleasure rose to 179/63 and I still feel seek from the trauma I experience. Also, I have had back and neck pain since I checked in to my cabin due to the horrible old mattress. I asked the department manager to change the mattress and he promised he would but two days latter I had the same mattress. I also ask Rose Robles, Frances Luistro in the front office to take care of the issue and they send Luis to take care of it but instead he place to pieces of sponge old patting that looked like they had been out in a rainy season winter. It was not until the last night in the ship that he replace the mattresses for another set of old ones that did not allowed my to sleep either but gave a horrible back pain instead.
They did not want to pay for good entertainment not did the cruise director Jonathan knows what good entertainment, he should go to Vegas to find out what good entertainment is.
TIME SPENT ON THE PORTS:
The time spent on the ports was very short in comparison to the time spend on Margery Glaciers, but it makes sense , time spend on the ports cost money.
I have cruise for 22 years with other cruise lines and had never had any complains.
booked my dream vacation to Alaska for the first time with Holland America and I will never to it again! The bed was so old that I could not get a good night sleep during my cruise. It was so old, that you could not see the print on side of the mattress. I have had a horrible back pain since then. Also, the sheets were not change and had red spots on them. I asked them several times to resolve the issue but they did not.
