Could not have been better! We took a Carnival ship out of Galveston in 2000, and this cruise was so much better - no comparison. Our room was great. We booked a class d room, but were bumped up to a class c. Nice big balcony, a small sitting area, queen bed, and bathtb w/shower. We also got use of some nice, white terry robes, great for wearing, sitting out on the balcony. The weather was a little rainy at the ports, but that didn't matter. Three full days at sea were beautiful and sunny. The main dining room food was very good. When we ordered desserts, they were fantastic - souffles, cherries jubilee, bananas foster. The food in the cafe/cafeteria was excellent, we thought. We were trying to eat right (as much as possible), and they had lots of choices. The drinks were great, too. The bartenders were all very friendly and upbeat. Everyone who worked on the ship was very nice, saying hello and good morning, lots of help and smiles from everyone. We were impressed. The crew was so hospitable and freindly, that they made the people who worked in the port towns seem cold and rude. Lots of picture opportunities, photographers working every night. Lots of fun activities, great bingos prizes (one day over $8,000!). The casino was, well, a casino - you win some, you lose some. But we had fun with it all. Getting on the ship was very easy - especially if you had a higher category. They had a special line for those people, so we didn't have to wait in long lines. A nice touch, since we paid over $1,200 per person.Getting off at the end of the cruise was not as bad as I had expected. From the time they called our luggage tag color, we got off and picked up our luggage, waited for my husband to go get the car from the lot down the road, and we finally got in the car and left - took one hour, not too bad.Anyway, we absolutely loved this cruise. We read reviews from this site before we went, and those people must be just big complainers about everything in life, never pleased. I'm sorry, Royal Caribbean does an outstanding job. If I could complain about even one thing, I wouldn't, it doesn't matter. All in all, a great time, we're looking forward to the 10 day cruise this fall on Splendor of the Seas!
