January 2018 - 4 Night Western Caribbean (Tampa Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Paradise

Carnival Elation

July 2017 - 4 Night Bahamas (Jacksonville Roundtrip) Cruise on Carnival Elation

People give this ship low ratings because of the size and age. I loved the ship. We cruised in July before the dry dock to rehab the ship and had a ball. The group I went with was ages 10-69. Some even had some ambulatory issues. The size of the ship was perfect for us all to get around and meet up. The kids club was ok. The cruise director was fabulous. We were in the lowest level of the ship the Kinda mid. It came in handy when we were getting on or off the boat, but you get lots of noise early! The rooms were nicely done with charging ports etc. We did get the chat package and that wasn't the best! We didn't see our room steward much and he never asked what time of day we wanted the room cleaned. He even asked if they could clean while we were in the room. Not real happy about that but we weren't in the room much. Lots of activities on the ship and great shopping (particularly alcohol). Know your prices before you go. One persons luggage was lost and didn't arrive for hours. Needless to say there was some anxious time waiting for it to show up. The serenity deck for adults is where I spent most of my time. Loved it! The shows were a little ho humph but we participated and had a good time. We got invited by the cast to other shows etc. 2 people in our group one ships on a stick- one for Karaoke and the other for a game. We looked forward to all of the stuff to do. The food was just ok but good. Lots of options and the service was good. The drinks were wonderful and wait staff attentive. When we disembarked we carried our stuff off and was back at the car within about 40 minutes. It was wonderful. I would recommend this ship and would travel on it again. I want to see all of the upgrades. The size doesn't matter as it has something for everyone!
