About TimHartisMe

My first cruise was way back when I was in college. I joined my parents for a quick Royal Caribbean getaway. I've been hooked ever since. I had the pleasure of introducing my wife to the joys of cruising as we left our two toddlers behind for our first cruise together in 2015. Looking forward to more in the future.

Liberty of the Seas

October 2015 - Liberty of the Seas to Bermuda

Ch...ch...ch...changes!

Even though Hurricane Jaoquin forced a change of itinerary, they cruise was still excellent. Instead of heading to Bermuda for two days, we called at St. John, Canada for one day. The change was absolutely the right decision and Royal Caribbean even gave each stateroom AT LEAST $500. The entertainment, service, food and fun made this a great trip despite the lack of sandy beaches.

Sovereign of the Seas (RETIRED)

June 2006 - Sovereign of the Seas (RETIRED) to Caribbean - Bahamas

TimHartisMe's Tips

Saint John, New Brunswick - Don't purchase excursions through the cruise line. Depart the ship, turn left and head down the road about 4 blocks. The city bus company leads a guided tour that's 2 hours long and hits all the tourist spots. They also give you time to get off at a couple places. $20 well spent!
Liberty of the Seas Liberty of the Seas - Board your cruise early for a free lunch! The Royal Promenade has a cafe and a pizza parlor. Both offer free (included in the price of the cruise) food. Hit up these wonderful little restaurants and people watch instead of heading to the crowded buffet.
Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey - If felt like we drove through a full mile of grungy, ugly warehouses before getting to the ship. Definitely, not an extremely pleasant way to arrive.
