Pacific Princess

September 2017 - Pacific Princess to Europe - Northern Europe

We really enjoyed this itinerary and met some wonderful people. The small ship was great but with that goes not as much activity. The weather wasn't great so therefore no outside activities. Some days were really rough and quite a few people felt sick so not sure if it was because of the size of the ship. Have a really nice time'1

Royal Princess

May 2016 - Royal Princess to Europe - Western Mediterranean

Lots to See

We were on this cruise for the first week and enjoyed it very much.  At first we were disappointed that Tunis & Sicily were changed to Cartegena & Gibraltar but were very impressed with Gibraltar.

Loved all the Ports of Call and enjoyed the Royal Princess,  I don't believe it was full because it never seemed to be line ups which was great.  Disappointed that our table for 8 only had 4 at it as were most of the tables.  Too bad they couldn't put some of them together so we could have got to know others like we wanted.

We were a little disappointed in the menu in the dining room as some nights there was not much "normal" choices.  Other ships we have been on, if you didn't care for menu items you could always order a steak but this wasn't the case on this ship.   There was better selection on the buffet some nightsl

Carnival Conquest

March 2015 - Carnival Conquest to Caribbean - Southern

Great time!

We had a wonderful time on this cruise.  We had never been to any of these ports which we enjoyed all of them!

We chose an aft balcony cabin (8461) because it was the middle of the back.  We were a little disappointed with the set up of the room.  The closet jutted out which made no space to hardly open the bathroom door.  We saw the room two doors down and it was larger than ours, had a larger balcony and way more space.  We also found it noisy with having seating one floor above as there always seemed to be chairs scraping!

The food was good except we found some of the times inconvenient.  We came back on to the ship in the early afternoon and wanted a  light lunch (Fruit/salad) but there was no place open to get this.  We felt that one of the buffets should have been open.  Also there was nothing other than pizza and ice cream available after 9:30.  It would have been nice to have something other than that available.

We did not use the Casino (which we would have liked to) but smoking was allowed in it and to even walk through was disgusting.  They had photos and entertainment but even walking through was gross for non smokers.

We had no issues with embarkation and we did the walk off debarkation which we were glad because others waited for hours to get off.

TammyMM's Tips

Riga, Latvia - Very clean city. Would have liked to be there longer. Very walkable
Kiel Canal Transit - Would have been nice to be able to get off and go in to Hamburg but it is closed until 2020
Stockholm, Sweden - Unfortunately we weren't docked in town so it was impossible to walk to town and we were charged $8 per person per trip for a shuttle town. If we could have bought a citybus ticket we would have but we didn't have any change in the currency.
Amsterdam, Netherlands - Port to town was walkable but it is quite a hike. The city was quite dirty ( Sunday morning) with the streets not cleaned from the night before. We pre ordered tickets for the Ann Frank house then did a walking tour
Cartagena, Spain - This port is very walkable. We walked around the town with a map to view some of the sites. Did some shopping (not many stores open as I think it was a Sunday) but my husband needed a pair of long pants for the dining room.
Oranjestad, Aruba - Did the Kuku Kanuko bus island tour then spent time at the beach. Beach time was a little too long for us but it was fun
Willemstad, Curacao - We took the Discover Curacao tour but found we did idn't have enough shopping time after the tour as the stores all closed before 6. We had to back to the mall by the ship dock in order to find anything open.
Grand Turk Island - stayed a Margaritille and walked to Jakes but would do someting to see the island next time
Carnival Conquest Carnival Conquest - We heard about the Chefs Table when we were going to the ship from other passengers. We loved this and would recommend it to anyone. It was definitely worth the cost.
