The check in at Honolulu was great. Boarding was smooth, although this was the first cruise line we've been on where no one took us to our room. The food was good but not quite up to the standards of our favorite line, Holland America. The bar service was poor and the snacks served there were cheap. I don't like getting tortilla chips for snacks when you're paying $5.00 for a drink. The service in the dining room was very good, as was our room steward service. The layout of the ship was great. The pool area was perfect and the main show room had plenty of space and every seat was a good one. Very good entertainment also. Now the really bad part! We docked at Ensenada and were prepared for a 3 1/2 hour bus ride to San Diego's airport, at a cost of $67 per person. It started off OK but at the border a rep of the bus company boarded and said that they needed our bus for some passengers left behind and we would have to switch to another bus. We were put on a bus with no air conditioning and no water in the stinky bathroom. We sat on the very warm bus for over an hour waiting to clear immigration. We got to the airport late and were dropped at the commuter terminal by our non-english speaking driver, when everyone had connections out of the main terminals. I'm sure many people missed their flights. Not the way you'd want to finish a dream vacation. I will never book another cruise in or out of Ensenada and RCL very likely won't see us again.
