We chose Celebrity to celebrate our 30 wedding anniversary. This was our first cruise on Celebrity, we have cruised Royal Caribbean, Princess and Norwegian cruise lines. Our first snafu was my husband had trouble getting on board due to the agent not coding the cruise card correctly. I do understand that these things happen and we were on board with in 15 minutes. As we boarded we were offered Mimosa's which I thought was nice. We made reservations for 2 in the dining room , since this was a special anniversary we wanted a table for 2. When we arrived for dinner we were told there would be a 2 hour wait!! I thought the prepaid gratuities were so you wouldn't have a wait. We have never had to wait this long with the other cruise lines. The hostess seemed to have an attitude, lo and behold, they did find us a table with in 30 minutes, it was actually a large table for 4 with 2 chairs removed. Not exactly good for conversation unless you have a mega phone!! On our way out of the dining we saw their was 4 small tables for 2 vacant!! In order to make reservations in their dining room, you must prepay gratuities, which we did. I filled out a comment card the next day and we received several calls from different departments. They tried to make it right for us, they sent chocolate covered strawberries, twice, a bottle of wine, bouquet of flowers, and complimentary dinner at their specialty restaurant. I do think they tried to compensate for our inconvenience. We never did go back to the dining room. We did find a place at the back of the ship, it's actually part of the buffet area, they close if off, cover the tables with linen table cloths and candles. it's called Destinations, that served very good food with an ocean view;. The service was excellent. We chose to have a few dinners there.
