First Cruise
Carnival Victory
Sail date: April 14, 2014
This was our first cruise. We drove from N.Ohio to Miami. We chose to drive based on the airfare was basicaly double the price of driving. And we enjoyed the drive. We left Saturday morning, and arrived in Miami Sunday intime for our room at the Miami Doral Holiday inn. The had a stay and park package with shuttle to POM. Nice place.
Never seeing a ship this size before The Victory looked huge. We purchased the Faster To The Fun, and will from now on. We were at the port by 11:30am, and on the ship by just after noon. We enjoyed the bit of relatively low crowds and explored the ship. We found it very nice.
We had a oceanview room. It was very comfortable. Our cabin stewerd.was amazing. He treated us like we were old friends. Our room was spotless the whole cruise. Room service was prompt, and for the most part the food was hot.We had dinner in the Atlantic dinning room 3 nights, and wished we would have all 5. Was Amazing.
The ports were really great. I had always wanted to see Nassau.Half Moon Cay was the highlight of the trip for us. We loved the beach, the sand was like nothing I'd ever felt. The Island BBQ was terrific, love that they had some exotic foods on the buffet.
Grand Turk was just a party! We loved the atmosphere. I did some research, and found Jacks Shack. I will be back some day!
Overall this was a great vacation. So much so we've booked Western Caribbean for next April, based on what we learned this time.
