January 2014 - Carnival Imagination to Caribbean - Western
We very much our very first carnival curise(1/14). The crew was personable, the wait staff was wonderful. We had the anytime dinning and loved it. Even when we waited for a particular area, our wait was no more than 5 minutes. The quick service areas were also very good, loved the menu selections in both that area and the dinning room. We found the ship and rooms tidy and clean. We took the ghost tour in Key West, it was very pleasant, as was the tour guide. We opted for the Ancient Culture/Mayan Ruins and Island Sightseeing tour. We couldn't have been happier on our choice. Our tour guid Moy was exceptional. He was very pleasant and very informative and knowledgable. Not only did we learn of the Mayan culture, we learned Mayan math to such a degree that we can not only add but read it, write it, and show another person to count. We learned of the Mayan calendar and how it worked. What an exciting 3 1/2 hours, it didn't seem long enough. The shows on the ship were wonderful, top of the line entertainers. My one observation that I did not like was the crew in dirty greasy overalls walking very casually in groups on the decks. It was like they were enjoying a leisurely stroll and the guests on the ship had to go around them. I realize there is houskeeping that requires attention, but I just felt it was not appropriate during the time when it was busy with guests on the decks. But even with that, we can't wait to book another trip on Carnival, see other islands and tours they have to offer.
