Pacific Dawn

December 2011 - ISLAND GEMS Cruise on Pacific Dawn

A very tired ship! Cabin was literally falling apart- toilet seat, bathroom door, shelf rails in cabin and in bathroom all fell off in first two days, paint chipped in cabin and hallway, carpet stained and threadbare. I notified dietary requirements 2+ months before embarking yet unable to accommodate many changes and was told I should have brought Lactose Free food with me!!!! Other Cruise lines have, before and since, provided all changes and requirements for me. 7 day menu repeated over 13 day cruise meant for me with severe restrictions due to their inability to adequately cater for common restrictions (i.e. gluten free, lactose free, no onion, no garlic) a very, very boring menu. I will never cruise on a P&O Australia cruise again. The staff were excellent and tried their best to fix cabin and accommodate meals.
