Explorer of the Seas

September 2012 - Explorer of the Seas to Bermuda

The Explorer of the Seas Bermuda

Beautiful Older ship, needs some work, but they are trying to maintain. Excellent coffee & beer bars. Casino has improved since my last cruise. WAY TOO MUCH SMOKING in Casino. Smallest non smoking area I have ever seen, still full of smoke.\. Had to move way too often all because of smoking passengers. Gambled much less than usual all due to excessive smoking. No smoke free evenings like my last cruise on this ship.

Celebrity Silhouette

November 2011 - Celebrity Silhouette to Caribbean

The Northeast Has The Silhouette

This New & Most Beautiful Celebrity ship knows how to put The Celebrity in all it's passengers. I have sailed with her twice so far & so happy to say, enjoyed every minute. The food, cabin size, excellent & dreamy bedding, entertainment & quality of this, are all first rate,as it should be. The Casino Payout have finally improved to what I consider normal payouts. This is a vast improvement over my first transatlantic sailing just a short four weeks ago.If you live in the Northeast, you have got to take this ship, while it's still in this region before she leaves in April for Europe.

Caribbean Princess

August 2011 - Caribbean Princess to Canada, New England, New York

Caribbean Princess & Hurricane Irene

The Caribbean Princess New England left NYC in a hurry to avoid confrontation with Irene. I received a text embarkation begins @ 10:00AM. no parking at the port due to storm. info came very late, had to scramble, beg for a rental car, All mass transit halted at noon. The casino payout % is way below standard casino %. The bedding, caved in mattresses, pillows are all flat & crushed & linen always looks gray, not fresh. The food was Excellent, only ice tea was free. Entertainment was reasonable, Excellent Itinerary, fair price. If gambling & having fun in the casino is your thing, this is NOT the ship for you.

Carnival Glory

June 2011 - Carnival Glory to Canada, New England, New York

A Terrific Quick Getaway

This ship is in very good condition for an older type of cruise ship. The ships design causes one to have to go up to the 5th floor to get from the front to the back of the ship. the 3rd & 4th floors do not permit one to get from the front to the back. Otherwise, this ship was lots of fun & laughs. the shows are first rate & the crew is ALWAYS upbeat with lots to do every minute of your cruise nonstop.. Lots of energy from the staff & crew. Everyone was very pleasant. The casino was generous in it's slot play payouts. This permitted one to play, WIN, as well as loose. This is how a casino on Board ship should be operated. Not like the newer type cruise ships, that structure their casino play to be like throwing money overboard, never winning means no fun play in the casino. We all know the casino ( house) ALWAYS wins. BUT. this casino permits one to get some play for their money. AND if you play wisely, you might even beat the casino for some cruise fare on your next cruise like I did.

Jewel of the Seas

October 2010 - Jewel of the Seas to Canada, New England, New York

Fall Foilage on The Jewel of the Seas

This is the second time in six months I have traveled on The jewel of the seas. my first was transatlantic in may. The most recent was Oct. 2010. I appreciate the size of the Jewel, not too small, or too big. The jewel is well kept, clean & still shining upon the waves. The buffet is reasonable in food quality. The food selections are mostly boring, always the same foods every day & the fish is always dried out. the casino on both trips was just bad in services. The slot machines were highly unreliable without service techs to come to assist whatsoever & the waiter service was non existent. On most is almost annoyed by the drink service requests. On this ship if you want a drink one has to stop playing & go to the bar to get a beverage. the cabin & attendant was very good. The entertainment is always good on RCCL. The fun level needs improvement on this ship. I do not think I would sail on the Jewel in the future, as two times was enough for me.
