Juneau, Alaska - Juneau, is the state capitol, so is in much better shape than Ketchikan. We went on the tourist walk again, the map provided by the tourist bureau. If you want to see the Glacier there are tours operators in the city that will take you there for $20.00 or so. Don't go through NCL for this.
Ketchikan, Alaska - We went on the walking tour with the map provided by the visitors bureau. Approx. a 2 1/2 hour walk. Covered Creek Streek, walking up to the Cove Lodge, Totem Park, with lots of interesting points of interest in between, and then back down to the ships. Ketchikan is not well kept up, outside of Creek Street which is really a "tourist" area, it is kinda dumpy and dirty. The homes are in tough shape. Outside of fishing, tourism would be the main economy.
Skagway, Alaska - All the buildings are in pretty good shape, the city is very flat easy to move around. The national parks office, located at 2nd & Broadway, offer free 45 minutes tours, get tickets at the office. Good bathrooms and water fountain.
