September 2016 - Allure of the Seas to Caribbean - Eastern
The service in the mdr was exceptional, terrific waiter and asst waiter, the food has declined over the years and it was just OK. Never had a problem finding something to eat, but the quality was lacking. MamaMia was broadway quality and did not mind the 2 1/2 hr. show, had a 15 minute intermission, which helped. The ship was very clean, still a lot of chair hogs. The cruise staff were mostly pleasant but some obviously did not like their jobs.
Capt. Ron was excellent and always let us know that we would not be heading for the hurricane but it would be behind us, seas were calm and weather was sunny. Missed St. Thomas and St. Martin but they were replaced with Falmouth, Jamaica and Labadee.
Disembarking was a major mess, as D+ members we were told our area to wait would be 4th fl. of the theater. No one was at the door to check our seapass cards(as has been the case in other cruises)to make sure that only D+ and above would be allowed in that location. When announcements for luggage tags were made, there was NO ONE in the theater(again in past cruises there was always a cruise staff member) that directed us to the correct area to disembark. It was a stampede of people. The wait to get off the ship, we had a low number tag, was over 1 1/2 hrs. long, only 6 customs agents for 6,000 people.
