Freedom of the Seas

February 2014 - Freedom of the Seas to Caribbean - Eastern

HAD A GOOD TIME

This was our third cruise with Royal Carribean and we thoroughly enjoyed it.  The other cruise we've taken was with Carnival and our opinion is that RCCL is much better.  We were most impressed with the efficiency of the check-in.  It was quicker than we had anticipated that more than 3,000 people would be processed.  Our stateroom attendant kept our room very clean at all times and the towel "sculptures" he made were phenomenal.  We really enjoyed the food in Galileo's, the my time dining saloon.  There was good selection on the menu every night which made choosing what we wanted for starters a difficult choice.  Generally we ended up having  one of the delicious soups plus.  The seafood dishes were especially good and, if you like lobster, make sure you start with the seafood salad.  The selection of freshly cooked warm rolls every night was great.  Our waiter and assistant waiter were very pleasant and made our dining experience even better.  Breakfast in the Windjammer provided a very good selection of foods and no one should leave there hungry unless they are extremely picky.  The ice show was particularly good and not as crowded as we hd been led to believe.  All the stage shows were also good.

Brilliance of the Seas

February 2014 - Brilliance of the Seas to Caribbean - Western

A relaxing time

This was our second Royal Caribbean cruise and we enjoyed it every bit as much as the first.

The reception and boarding process were both very quick and efficient and our stateroom was ready at 1 pm as promised.

Because we booked the cruise only a couple of days before sailing, we could only get an 8.30 pm dining time which was too late for us, therefore we ate in the Windjammer Cafe.  The food was quite good although some dishes, such as the pan fried fish, seemed to be repeated from day to day.  However, the evening that Indian food was featured was excellent!  The snack bar variety and selection was good.

The stateroom attendant kept our accommodation spotless and the creations he made with the towels were really good and amusing.

We spent a lot of time in the Solarium, which we really enjoyed.

We enjoyed the excursion to Stingray City in Grand Cayman and the catermaran trip to a reef for snorkelling in Cozumel.  Both were well worth while.

Linry's Tips

Philipsburg, St. Maarten - We booked a third party excursion through Cruises Only and never made it s the instructions to get to the meeting plce were not very good. When we booked we did not know how long the excursion would be for and it turned out that we would he had a tough time getting back to the ship for the "gt back aboard time."
Freedom of the Seas Freedom of the Seas - Park at Port Canaveral Parking, Radisson Hotel. It's nearly 50% cheaper than the port parking.
