If you have cruised before and if you have been on a large ship then i would NOT recommend this ship; as its very small. Activities are fun, but get boring overtime, places to walk around or have a drink are limited and the DR and Windjammer offerings aren't as elaborate as other ships. Portofinos and Chops probably had about 12 tables each...so likelihood to get a table was pretty much crushed right away. And the waiting list was 20 deep ! The Entertainment: There was only 2 shows on this cruise: first nite comedian who was funny. The 3rd night Around the World was great and we all enjoyed it. The 70's Disco should have lasted longer to allow kids to dance with their families...or open up VORTEX to family disco night! Stateroom 1003 (Inside Deck 10) in very front of ship was just fine, enough room for 2 adults and a 7 year old . Attendant was wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. We enjoyed the interaction alot. Kids Ocean's Club - not as large or as much activities as other RC Crusies we've been on..but son went happily to play with his friends daily. Of course the hi-lite is always the PIRATE NITE ! Kids pool / slide was awesome, but closed down pretty earlly which was a disappointment for the kids. The Arcade had about 20 games in it....and alot of them contained "shooting" - would have liked to see other things like dance/singing/driving motorbike or something fun like that. Most machines ran about $1.75 per play. PORT of CALL : Cozumel Mexico - -what a terrific fun day we had riding ATV's thru the jungle and then swimming in the Cenote Caves ! Look into MEXITOURS they were fantastic ! A bit off of the track of what is offered thru the ship - - wow really enjoyed it alot ..... and you get dirty, wet and adreline rush! New Years Celebration was so much fun and at the end of the day the real reason we went on Jewel of the Seas. We welcomed the new year with champagne and dancing.
