July 2014 - Carnival Victory to Caribbean - Western
We are back from our 5 night cruise on the Carnival Victory and I must say that we had a GREAT time on this cruise. We sailed out of Miami on Saturday, July 12th and reached Ocho Rios, Jamaica on Monday, July 14th. Once in Ocho Rios, we left the ship heading to our excursion at Dunn River Falls and Dolphin Cove. I would not recommend the Dunn River Falls to anyone because of the poorly organizaed tour guides. Not to mention that it was a very dry, humid, and hot day, the tour guides weren't very organized with trying to get the passengers to their various destinations. To add to the frustration, once we arrived at Dunn River Falls, the tour guide was concentrating on getting an accurate head count instead of getting us into the excursion. Having been frustrated with the entire process from the ship to the 1st stop on our excursion, we opted out and went on the Dolphin Cove. Here we had a better experience and our 9-year daughter enjoyed herself. We were able to feed the love birds, my daugter petted and fed the rabbits and she played in the ocean. The next day we arrived at the Grand Caymans. Once we left the ship, we had a GREAT time. The tour guides were more organized and held up signs to the various excursions. The excursion we chose was the Grand Cayman by land and sea and it was GREAT! We were able to ride on a submarine and the driver got out and fed the fish right outside our windows. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the sunken ships and the various fish that we saw on our tour. The next stop on our tour was the famous turtle farm. Our daughter got a chance to feed and hold a turtle, something she's never done before. We also visited Hell on this tour. We even got a chance to send post cards to our family and friends with logos that read "I've been to HELL and back!" Overall, our 2nd cruise with Carnival and our 3rd cruise overall was a GREAT vacation. We are planning our next Carnival cruise now!!
