Almost perfect

This is a beautiful ship. We had a minisuite, which cannot be faulted. The food was the best in some twenty or more cruises. Entertainment perhaps not up to Princess standards, but comparable with that of other lines eg. Holland-America. We recommend this ship without reservation.

Emerald Princess is a first class ship

The cabins are great - we had a mini-suite and couldn't ask for more. The service on the ship was great and in spite of its size the crew and stewards were very friendly. The entertainment was terrific - never a dull moment and there was music everywhere. We were on a Xmas cruise and the staff went out of their way to decorate the ship and create a Xmas atmosphere, especially for the many children on board. The food was very good and we appreciated any time dining. Interesting ports of call. The only criticism is of the shops which offer few options and little variety. Highly recommended.

Well up to expectations

This is beautiful ship. Oustanding cruise director who filled the day (and night) with activities and entertainment. Food mediocre but service excellent. Production shows lacked pizazz and are too short at 35 minutes. Barty Brown an excellent entertainer in Crooners.Photographs too expensive.

Queen Victoria

A first-class cruise

The Queen Victoria has a very nice ambience, to which both passengers and crew contribute. As experienced cruisers we were surprised by the crude method of embarking passangers; disembarkment, however went smoothly. The first afternoon tea was also disorganized; instead of adding more tables the maitre d. was sending late arrivals to the buffet. From a design viewpoint the ship suffers by comparison with other Fincantieri products. The atrium is a dead loss, too small to be useful and too big to be ignored. Storage in the cabins is poor; this is the first cruise where we have had to store clothing on the floor. The shelves provided are too deep and we discovered items left over by the previous occupant of the cabin. The less said about the shower the better. We would like to contradict other critics who have faulted the Lido buffet - there is no problem with the layout and the selection and quality of the food is excellent.

About par for the course

The physical attributes of this ship remain first class, but there has been a tendency to economize since wee last cruised in it. For example, the daily papers have been eliminated, and the food and food service are more limited. The Philipino chef is not the best in the fleet. We missed having an outstanding entertainer like Larry Dunsmure, but the Hungarian quartet in the Piazza almost made up for it. On the whole, the ship is the star.
