Norwegian Dream
Sail date: April 01, 2007
We enjoyed a great 19-day repositioning cruise out of Houston. All ship staff, particularly restaurant and room staff, were exemplary - attentive and attractive. We have taken several other cruises with different companies such as Celebrity and Princess. This cruise outranked Celebrity by a mile.
Menus were varied for all meals and food was great. We are happy that we ignored many of the reviews. Coffee was always hot and eggs benedict were on the menu every day contrary to what we had read in other reviews. Of course, if there was nothing on the menu that appealed to us, the staff was always willing to try and meet our needs. Also, there were two specialty restaurants available - the Italian one was terrific.
This ship will be retired from NCL service within the next two years. Too bad because it is a nice size carrying about 1500 passengers. We prefer smaller ships to the giants that are saling now.
Shore excrusions were competitive with other lines - they are all too high so buyer beware. However, they lived up to what they promised. Before sailing, it is always a good idea to do some homework about ports-of-call. Often you can do better on your own - we did.
