January 2017 - Celebrity Reflection to Caribbean - Western
The Reflection is a gorgeous ship. It is kept very clean. We enjoyed all the restaurants that we ate at, including Blu, Maranos, quising and Tuascan. The ocean grill and poolside burger place also very good food.
Our stateroom and service in Auqa class room was excellent.
Service in each restaurant excellent.
Now the down side. Bar service especially at the martini bar was poor at best. The one exception was the ensemble lounge. That was great service...
the sunset bar service was not horrbike for how busy they are.....but half the bar was designated to smoking, including cigar smoke. Which is not pleasant to a non smoker. Also, it should be noted...that same area was designated for lawn games.
So, we could not play bocci ball due to all the smoke. The small pool bar was a smoking bar, too...even up at the bar.
Which brings me to the rented alcoves....half of these alcoves are on the smoking side of the sunset bar, thus those alcoves get the smoke as well....not such a great sell for $100-150 a pop to rent.
We rented an alcove on the non smoking side, while the ship was in Labadee. Not worth the money. Service was terrible. We had to put up our own shade top. After the water was delivered, we never had any bar service. At 11:30 fruit and cheese was delivered.....and those dirty dishes sat there until we left at 3:30! Not once did anyone come and ask us if we would like or need anything. It was not pleasant.
The ship is rather boring.....not a lot to do unless you want to sleep, eat, drink or read. Activities and shows very limited. Variety minimal. We where also disappointed that each night there was some sort of "party" like 80s dance or silent disco....starting at 11pm.....why could they not very time, so people that do not stay up all night could enjoy....say a 9pm dance party...10pm...?
We did get rest....so that was good
This was our second Celebrity Cruise...we have determined this cruise line is not for us. We are more of a Royal household....much more to do on those ships.
