the cutbacks on this ship were obvious in the entertainment areas as well as the overall cleanliness of the ship it was a MAJOR disapointment the worst cruise i have ever been on
July 2012 - Norwegian Gem to Caribbean - Bahamas
food was good however some areas were not as clean as they should be for example the glass shelves at the blue lagoon were very dusty for the entire trip and often there was a lot of food...mostly cereal...on the floor not very appetizing to eat in that atmosphere and easily corrected otherwise all was well and we had a great time

For a new ship, I was disappointed to find so many areas badly in need of cleaning. I found hairs on several dishes at the buffet & the floor in the ladies room was encrusted with dirt. The food and entertainment was very good. Given a choice I would much prefer traveling on the Royal Princess where we did not encounter these issues.
