December 2015 - Carnival Victory to Caribbean - Western
This was our 3rd cruise with Carnival. Safety was handled well at the beginning and the crew and staff were welcoming and entertaining. We didn't use the wifi, but I can see it being quite a good deal. It's only $5 a day for access to the most popular social media sites. Events on the ship were abundant and organized relatively well due to the event sheet of a certain day being given to us on the evening before that day. Some events, however, were pretty underwhelming with not many people showing up or started late due to previous events going on late. Some great movies were shown at the Lido Deck of the ship at night including some blockbuster hits of the previous year. Make sure to try to go on shore excursions since we don't think there is much to do outside of them that is guaranteed safe, especially in Grand Cayman. There were $4 ride to Seven Mile Beach and $20 sightseeing tours at Grand Cayman, but we're not sure about how good those were. Although in Grand Cayman we were dropped off at a blocked off tourist area, we got a great bus ride to a dock where we got on a boat to go to Stingray City being able to swim with and touch the stingrays. We also enjoyed climbing Dunn's River Falls in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, a unique experience of climbing a waterfall while in the water that isn't found in many other locations. The boat was also not too shaky, which was a relief. If you're unlucky, the seas can get stormy and cause extremely nausea, however, as we experienced on the last day of our second cruise.
