Carnival Pride

Carnival Pride

Sail date: February 01, 2007

We had a Great Time!!!

I sailed on the Pride this past week and what a great trip! I traveled with my family of 4 and my brother and his wife. We enjoyed pretty much everything about this ship. The shows were fun to watch, and there were activities for everyone to enjoy. I hardly saw the kids as there was always something for them to do. The 8 year old stayed mostly in the Carnival Kids Club. The 14 year old had activities as well, and also toured the ship quite a bit with friends made on the ship. There were alot of families with teenagers. They roamed the ship alone, and hung out at various places around the ship, so if you don't like teenagers, this isn't the ship for you. The food was good on the Lido Deck. We liked the food in the main dining room as well, but only ate dinner there 2 times. Our table got swtiched on the 2nd night and our new waiter seemed to have too many tables, and not enough help. It took us awhile to get our food. However, the meals for breakfast and lunch in the main dining room were fine. Our room steward, Joni, was excellent. He learned our names by the 1st night. Our rooms were kept clean and well stocked with clean linens. Room service was excellent as well. On time and still hot from the kitchen. The shore excursions were fun. We went on the Royal Dolphin Swim at Puerta Vallarta. It was alot of fun being able to touch and swim with these sweet creatures. You will be amazed at the power they have when they pull or push you through the water. At Maztalan, we did the Old Mazatlan Walking Tour. This was a nice tour of the older part of the city and very interesting things to see. We liked visiting the town square, and the cliff divers the best. There is a bit of walking, with some rest stops along the way. The ground is uneven, though, so make sure you are able to adjust to different slopes easily. There was an older woman on our tour with a cane, and she did okay. In Cabo San Lucas, we did the Cabo by Land and Sea Tour. That was nice as well, with alot of different things to see. I liked the glass blowing factory and the boat ride the best. Most of the tour is on an air conditioned bus with stops along the way. The only thing I have to complain about is that there isn't too much time to shop at this port if you take this tour. We were done with the tour around 1 and you have to be back on board the ship by 3. This was our 2nd cruise with carnival and we will cruise with them in the future. We had a staterom with a balcony and it was well worth it. The views were great when you were in a port or even at sea. We will get a balcony from now on.
