It's an older ship, but in good repair...you do sort of step back into the 90's with the decor. Staff was very friendly, but the food quality was poor. Of course you can't expect a Mariott at Motel 6 prices, but these affordable Carnaval boats definitely appeal to the masses. Our last cruise was with Celebrity, and it beat this Carnaval cruise hands down in terms of quality and TLC. We actually had a cheaper balcony room on Celebrity, yet each nite we had hors'douvres, champagne, etc. They charged us for bottled water on Carnaval (in a $1200 suite!) However, our adult children on a budget seemed to be pretty happy with it because of the value ($199 a head).
