Seven Seas Navigator

June 2014 - Seven Seas Navigator to Alaska

Unsurpassed beauty and shipboard service/accomodations

We have traveled on several cruises since our marriage 32 years ago.  This is the first cruise that carried a maximum of nearly 500 passengers.  The passenger to crew ration was 1:1.6 which allowed exquisit service.  The cruise director and assistant cruise director were top notch with nearly 30 years experience between the two.  Onboard entertainment and shore excursions were well planned and executed.  The "all inclusive" atmosphere works beautifully allowing a smoother and more relaxed tone between passengers and crew.  The smaller numbers onboard assured repeated encounters where passengers and crew quickly recognized one another thus bringing a more personal touch to the cruise.  The cuisine and service was unsurpassed.  Our butler spoiled us rotten!  The accomodations exceeded our expectations.  With no disrespect to larger cruise ships that we have traveled, we have found our niche with the "smaller" ships.  A job well done by all!  Thank you.

Norwegian Wind (RETIRED)

June 1982 - Norwegian Wind (RETIRED) to Caribbean - Bahamas

JTS's Tips

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia - As beautiful at night as in the daytime. Be sure to take the trolley tour throughout the town and eat at the Five Sails restaurant with its panoramic view of the harbour located in the Pan Pacific Hotel. In fact stay at the Pan Pacific as it is on the warf where your ship disembarks.
Skagway, Alaska - Do not miss the train ride on the narrow gauge White Pass Railroad train!
Ketchikan, Alaska - OMG sign up for the Alaskan Chef's Table 6 course feast and then walk it off shopping!
Sitka, Alaska - It was rainy in Sitka but enjoyed sitting on the balcany and watching the eagles.
Juneau, Alaska - Did the Flavors of Juneau. Was a free excursion and well worth the visits to the Alaskan Brewery, Chez Alaska Cooking School and Mendendall Glacier.
Cruise Hubbard Glacier - Words (and even pictures) cannot express the awe and wonder. Got to witness 5 "calves". How do you beat that?!
Seward (Anchorage), Alaska - Only there overnight. Stayed at the Hilton. Was a little dated in decor but OK. Would like to go back and tour.
Seven Seas Navigator Seven Seas Navigator - Being on a smaller ship, we never experienced crowds or waiting lines whether at events, dining, or disembarking. The crew always greeted us most graciously. We never witnessed a frown from anyone the whole week! We met many new friends and hope to sail with some of them and you on our next trip.
