Norwegian Breakaway

February 2014 - 7 Night Bahamas & Florida (New York Roundtrip) Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Breakaway Cattle Car

NCL should slow down their growth in favor of better staff training. The Breakaway lacks ambiance, the clubs/lounges are lackluster ( a comparison of the Norwegian Gem as opposed to the Norwegian Breakaway) the Gem wins by 31 lengths.

The first day sailing, we received our luggage after midnight. The staff in general were not as pleasant as expected particularly information desk staff.

Our nurse who traveled with his family during the Christmas holidays had bedbugs in his stateroom.

The Gem is a real Gem

The warm and friendliness of the crew is superior, the food fare superb, the entertainment great and the Latitudes Rewards Party fun with unlimited non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks.  Since we don't disembark in Florida it feels like you have the whole ship to yourself.

Before booking, check to see if the renovations on the mezzanine and 8aft are finished, after which O'Sheehan's Neighborhood Bar & Grill will be making its debut aboard the GEM.
