September 2016 - Ruby Princess to Coastal - West Coast

Three Relaxing Days at Sea

Aside from a rather difficult process entering and exiting Canada, the cruise was very relaxing and I enjoyed three days at sea. Continued on ship from LA to Catalina and Ensenada with seemless re-embarkation.

September 2016 - Ruby Princess to North America

Vancouver to la

Embarking was a nightmare in Vancouver due to customs...they routed everyone all over the bldg.  Ruby Princess was great. Got some beautiful sunrise shots. Three days at sea is a tad too long without stopping at ports.

May 2016 - Grand Princess to Alaska - Inside Passage

Awesome Alaska

Fabulous cruise with beautiful breathtaking scenery ... worth every minute of the chilly weather,  We were rerouted through Endicott due to glacier breakage in Tracy Arm Fjord but wouldn't have known the difference if someone hadn't pointed it out.  Saw a baby seal float by on a small iceberg ...happy happy happy!

Crown Princess

April 2016 - Crown Princess to Coastal - West Coast

Headed to Canada Via the Coast

SWA lost our luggage so we boarded the ship with minimal clothes.  We were known as the "lost luggage" people and laughed it off.  Princess was kind enough to arrange to pick up our luggage at SFO and bring it back to the ship....very impressive.  Loved San Francsico and Victoria!

Royal Princess

April 2016 - Royal Princess to Caribbean - Southern

Forget Come Back New - Glad to Come Back Alive - Awesome Trip

Trip was saddened by deaths of passengers - one who died at 80 scuba diving (no better way to go) and not sure cause of 2nd death but heard it was natural.  The ship also had to accelerate back to port so they could dock at midnight to let off two medical emergency needed passengers (who appeared okay as they were transported off at midnight so great job by medical staff on board)  It does put a damper on things knowing some people are suffering while you are enjoying the time of you life.

Besides that - the trip was fabulous - pleasantly surprised how beautiful Princess Cays beaches and facilities were - great snorkeling - the security guard throwing banana pieces helped draw the fish in droves!

Each island was beautiful in its own way with tons to see and do - rented golf carts, jeeps, cars and did a lot of self tours...Many people do not understand the devastation tropical storms and hurricanes cause on these islands and it is not an easy task to get rid of the debris... The islanders and natives that have picked themselves up and began again selling their wares are a delight to chat with and buy from - the prices are right and their stories are even better.

I'm a Princess Cruise line fan and feel they do an awesome job on the ship in spite of many rude arrogant passengers who are more demanding than 2 year olds.  Age may have its "privilege" but rudeness is never okay.  Need to have a code on their cruise card that says "Does not play well with others"!

Best item I took on this cruise was a little spray bottle that I put water in and kept in the fridge - provided great "mist" to cool off on shore and on top deck when away from water....

So great time - definitely going again.

March 2016 - Ruby Princess to Mexico

Sh*t Happens

Bad weather took us back to shore instead of Catalina Island so first portion of cruise was from LA to San Diego.  (Many cruisers had driven from San Diego to La to cruise so lots of irate people!)  Deal with it!  Why risk safety!  Princess made the right decision to forego Catalina because of rough waters.

Ensenada was beautiful - did the Bufadora tour and saw great bursts from the blow hole.  As always, Princess runs like a well oiled machine with great services and great staff.Love

Quick Getaway Vacation

Took this cruise for the main purpose of relaxing ... Didn't get off ship because I was suffering from severe allergies.  However, enjoyed just resting up on deck loaded down with allergy medication

Crown Princess

December 2015 - Crown Princess to Mexico

Great Cruise Great Value

Princess Cruise Line runs like a well oiled machine ...Easy on and off ... plenty to do (or not).  Ports were interesting ... typical tourist stops.  Depending upon whether you chose to eat or to dine, good food throughout - great steak and lobster at Crown Grill - beef hot dogs and ice cream cones out by Neptune Pool.  Some "Fine Dining" restaurants have an additional "cover charge" (approx $20 per person) but well worth the extra money.  Soft drinks cost so wise idea to buy the drink card!  Coffee is free usually so the coffee card I bought was only used for specialty coffee drinks and most of the time, they didn't punch the card.  Anything costing extra is clearly marked (e.g. Milkshake $2.50 - cones free) Great cruise - great value - great time!

DebbieVi's Tips

Royal Princess Royal Princess - Smoking is extremely limited with back deck 16 being open air smoking and Churchills on Deck 6 by Casino being indoor and VERY heavily smoke filled. Casino had equal night of smoking and non-smoking. New video screens throughout casino made it crystal clear if it was a non-smoking night with zero
Royal Princess Royal Princess - Southern Caribbean was more "formal" than Eastern Caribbean - very strict about dress code while the Eastern Caribbean was more "casual". Ship updates were wonderful.
Royal Princess Royal Princess - Glad to hear there are now steps in the center of the ship!
Juneau, Alaska - Loved The Red Dog Saloon ... Easy town to walk through from the pier.
Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida - Thrifty allows you to pick up a rental car at FLL airport and return to their location near the port at no extra upcharge. They run free shuttles to the pier at regular intervals.
VANCOUVER (PORTLAND), WASHINGTON - Grabbed a rental car and headed on 6 day road trip across Canada to Banff and back. Loved Lake Louise and everything in between.
Victoria, British Columbia - Definitely a "walkabout" town. Follow the map to "downtown" and take a water taxi back to the pier if you are tired. Loved the "floating houses" on the pier. Beautiful city one of my favorite ports
St. George's, Grenada - Great islanders spices & more. Bought NUT-MED the lotion the Olympic winner from Grenada used when running and it is great stuff for my arthritis and bum knee!!
Dominica - Tons of tour guides/vans when you disembark - took 8 of us to Emerald Pool and anywhere else we wanted for $20 each -
Royal Princess Royal Princess - No stairs in the middle of ship was a bummer when you want to run up one deck to grab a snack ...
