Carnival Fascination
Sail date:
As our third cruise, my husband and I were disappointed with the quality of the overall Carnival experience. Our first 2 cruises were with Royal Carribean and we were thrilled with every aspect of our cruises. Carnival, by comparison, was low quality in terms of service and product. The crew was not fun, nor very friendly. The food presentation, selection and quality was minimal at best. Our cabin was average, but the overall decor of the Fascination was "gaudy." The ship had a musty, dirty smell that was inescapable. Our reason for choosing Carnival this trip was the children's program. It was very good for children who are old enough to enjoy a group setting & interact with their peers, however, I wouldn't suggest cruising with a baby or toddler (our son is 20 months). The entertainment was very good, but not better than Royal Caribbean. Overall, our feeling was that the employees of Carnival would have rather been home than at work. On Royal Caribbean, the staff made the whole experience! Nightly shows in the dining room, friendliness and fun was everywhere! Carnival had none of this. As you may imagine; we will NOT be cruising with Carnival again!
